CECILIA DACIUK – GENERAL COUNSELLOR OF THE INSTITUTE OF THE CATECHISTS
OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS
On the evening of February 19 the extended family of St. Basil Seminary bid farewell to a beloved member, Miss Cecilia Daciuk, Catechist of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was in October, 1989, at the request of Bishop Basil H. Losten, that Miss Daciuk and two other Catechists departed their native Brazil to begin a new life of service in the Stamford Eparchy in the United States of America. In the intervening 20 years she has faithfully and with great dedication and love served the staff and seminarians of St. Basil Seminary with her culinary skills. In December, 2008 during the General Meeting of the Catechists of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, held in the Institute’s motherhouse in Prudentopolis, Brazil, Miss Daciuk was elected to serve as one of the general counsellors of the Institute for the next five years. We pray that God abundantly bless Miss Daciuk with good health, happiness, wisdom and much success as she embarks upon this exciting new road in her life of service to the Church.
